When you compress or expand, the Finder may not change the icon(s) right away. To see an icon immediately, close, deselect, and reopen the folder containing it.
Hint: To compress or expand multiple files or folders, make a new folder and put the items into it.
Select a file, folder, or disk, then choose “Compress” or “Expand” to compress or expand it.
DiskDoubler makes files smaller using a process called compression. By compressing files, you can make more space on your disks, or shorten the time it may take to send a file over a device such as a modem.
